Join us for the 3rd Annual SSG Kyle McKee Memorial Ruck, a meaningful event honoring the life and legacy of Staff Sergeant Kyle McKee while raising support for local heroes in need.

6.2 Mile Smoker: $30

Our premier competitive ruck featuring exercise stations along the route. Competitive Weight Requirements:

-Under 150 lbs.: 10 lb. minimum

-150 lbs. & over: 20 lb. minimum

6.2 Mile Friendly Ruck: $30

Complete the same 6.2 mile course at your own pace. Weight optional

“KM5” 5K: $20

A traditional 5K option staying on Leroy Center Road for a shorter and more accessible route.

Kids Fun Ruck: $10

A short, family-friendly course held at the Leroy Ball Fields, featuring kids activities. Weight Optional. Family fun ruck runs from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM. Come when you want, stay as long as you like, and enjoy the activities at your own pace.

Route Overview

Start/Finish: Leroy Ball Fields

Participants begin on Leroy Center Road (paved and open to traffic), then turn onto Kniffen Road and enter Hidden Lake Park at the second entrance. Inside the park, participants complete a 1-mile dirt and gravel section before retracing the route back to the ball fields. Smoker participants will encounter exercise stations inside the park. Friendly and Smoker participants complete the same 6.2-Mile route.

-KM5 5K: Remains on Leroy Center Road

-Kids Fun Ruck: Short course at the ball fields

Can’t join us in person? You can still be part of the mission. The Virtual SSG Kyle McKee Memorial Ruck allows participants from anywhere to honor the life and legacy of Staff Sergeant Kyle McKee while supporting local heroes in need. Whether you’re rucking solo, training with friends, or getting the family involved, every mile logged helps carry Kyle’s legacy forward. Participants will have all of May to complete their chosen event option.

A tradition 5K option for runners, walkers, or ruckers looking for a shorter, more accessible distance.

Virtual Smoker – At Home Exercise Stations

Participants completing the Virtual 6.2 Mile Smoker will perform the following stations throughout their ruck or workout. Use a ruck vest, dumbbells, or a loaded backpack unless otherwise noted.

Station 1- Push + Core

  • 25 Decline Pushups (Feet Elevated)
  • 50 Sit-ups
  • 25 Incline Pushups

Station 2 – Lower Body + Pull

  • 50 Overhead Squats Option: Goblet squat if overhead isn’t safe
  • 50 Bent-over rows

Station 3- Posterior Chain + Upper Pull

  • 50 Good Mornings
  • 50 Upright Rows

Station 4- Lunges

  • 100 Walking Lunges (50 Each Leg)

Station 5- Legs + Press

  • 50 Air Squats
  • 50 Shoulder Press (Dumbells, ruck, or backpack)

Station 6- Conditioning

5 rounds of:

  • 30-45 Seconds hard effort (hill sprint, stairs, fast run, bike, row, or jump rope)
  • Easy recovery back to start or 60-90 seconds rest

Station 7- Arms + Hinge

  • 50 curls
  • 50 ruck swings

Station 8- Step Work

  • 100 Step-Ups (50 Each Leg) Stairs, box, chair, or sturdy bench

Station 9- Push + Triceps

  • 50 Chest Press
  • 50 Tricep Extensions

Station 10- Pushups + Dips

  • 50 Dips
  • 50 Incline Pushups

Station 11- Full Body Finisher

  • 25 Ground-to-shoulders
  • 25 burpees
  • 25 sit-ups
  • Bear crawl (ruck on if able) 30-50 yards or 30-60 seconds
